Machine-tools
There are various machine-tools to shape metals and other materials. Machine-tools with electrical drive are faster and more accurate than hand tools. They are an important element in the development of mass-production processes. All machine-tools have facilities for holding both the workpiece and the tool, and for accurately controlling the movement of the cutting tool relative to the workpiece. Most machining operations generate large amounts of heat, and there are cooling fluids (usually a mixture of water and oil) for cooling and lubrication.

There are many types of machine-tools, such as a lathe, drilling and boring machines, grinders, shapes and planers, dies. Their application is wide; they are also different in size and function. For example, there are portable drills and radial drilling machines.
The most important machine-tool is a lathe. Modern lathes are often under numeral control. Lathe has many operations such as drilling, reaming.
