What is the economic cost of Korean Reunification for Korean countries and citizens?

The problem of conflict and peace has always been a significant issue in all periods of history and at all levels relations among nations. It is universally believed that living in peace is living in a world with human that they would never fight and they would live as a family, in peace and harmony to finally find the dream of every pacifist. However, it is almost impossible because of the money, power, and the envy of people. Power is the main reason why we do not have peace in the world today, and North and South Korea is a great example of it (Eschborn., 2013). Due to my personal concern, I have always been interested in this issue according to several reasons. One of them is that this topic was one of the most interesting in Global Perspectives Subject. Moreover I was even more motivated after “TEDx” video about woman from North Korea talking about people and their rights. The problem of Korean reunification became really controversial today. Many individuals strongly consider that Korean reunification is a pipe dream because today they live with totally different ideologies as the North has adopted a communist government and the South runs a capitalist government (Babones, 2014). However, others hope that one day Korean people will figure out this problem and make a peaceful community because they are people of one nation. As a part of 21st centaury’s society I do believe that there must be a peace because we were born in one world, we are people of one community and we are all human beings sharing the same needs and values. However in this situation it is impossible to think only of the world peace and reunification of these countries, because there are about millions of different reasons why these countries can't come up together again. Therefore this question more reveals to the reasons and consequences of reunification and it is much better to find the economic cost and compare with its benefits (Gale, 2014). So only that way people are going to find the answer to this problem.
