Описание
Работа, выполненная в формате эссе, представляет собой размышления на тему об изменении позиции учителей в образовательной системе США сквозь время. Отрывок: The system of U.S. education before the unification of the states originated in the seventeenth century, as mentioned before. All those schools were run by the church, which required children to know the principles of religion and the capital laws of the commonwealth. However, most of the job was done by parents at home - they would ensure that their children were familiar with the Bible, and at least briefly knew how to behave in public. The intensive development of the schools began in the late years of 1600s, particularly after John Locke, a prominent English philosopher and physician, published his “Essay Concerning Human Understanding”, which conveyed his belief that the human mind is a tabula rasa, or blank slate, at birth and knowledge is derived through experience, rather than innate ideas as was believed by many at that time8. In class, however, a teacher's both functions and authorisation remained limited. Educators would carry out a rather robotic work by focusing on basic religious writings, but at the same time perform primary parenting duties - they would check students’ nails, hair and teeth to make sure they were clean and thus, verify the “decentness” of the rising generation.
