Necessity of advertising.
Did you know about the very first written ad? A long time ago in Egypt, some slave merchants were using papyrus to inform of trade sales. One in particular is considered to be the very first advertising in written form, following the tale of the slave Shem. It is now kept in the British Museum in London.
Nowadays, advertising is still an important part of the economy system of the whole world. Ads are everywhere: we see attention-grabbing advertisements on websites, on the TV, flyers and banners in the street and posters in the public transport. Some people think that advertisements are good, while other people think the opposite.
Therefore, it is easy to assume that advertising sometimes has a significant, sometimes small impact on members of society. However, the question arises as to the necessity of advertising. Often, we do not pay attention to advertising because we believe that it will not bring the results it claims.
Therefore, it is necessary to weigh all the advantages and disadvantages of the impact of advertising on society. Positive aspects of advertising include promoting participation in charitable actions, programs for the protection of historical values and rare animals, promoting a healthy lifestyle through advertising various vitamin supplements, and technological awareness (propaganda of new technologies). Advertising can also serve as agitation (political advertising), posters (theatrical advertising), announcements (advertising one's skills to employers), and more. However, there are negative aspects of advertising.
Overall, there are many disadvantages to advertising. For example, the dishonesty of some advertisers, aggressiveness, propaganda of violence or harmful substances, imposition of values, and high prices of goods. But advertising is not only problematic for potential consumers. Many advertisements are ineffective, costly, contribute to market monopolization, and therefore cause losses to companies and firms. Despite this, a small percentage of advertising still becomes successful, leading to profits for manufacturers. Such products usually fulfill their main goal without serious consequences for the buyer. That is, both the consumer and the producer benefit. However, this does not always happen. I mean the fact that some ineffective drugs or low-quality products are still bought thanks to good advertising. This is where its negative effect manifests itself. Therefore, when choosing any products, one should rely not only on advertising but also on one's own logic. And we come to the conclusion that advertising is needed but mostly useless in our time.
In conclusion, it should be noted that people need advertising. Indeed, without knowing the product, it is difficult to trust it. And if advertising emphasizes existing advantages and does not lie, people will use the product. Answering the main question of whether advertising is necessary, we can confidently answer "Yes". However, people should understand the difference between truth and lies. This already depends not on advertising but on the person, as the person is the master of their own destiny. They can either achieve what they want or increase their difficulties.
