ANALYSIS OF THE TEXT

I. A Morphological Level

1. Types of morphemes (free/bound; overt/covert; additive/replacive; continuous/discontinuous, etc).

2. Grammatical categories, synthetical and analytical forms

3. Types of oppositions (privative, gradual, equipollent). Instances of transposition and neutralisation of grammatical categories.

4. Parts of Speech. Cases of transition from one part of speech into another.

5. The Noun and its grammatical categories (including cases of lexicalization of the plural form, if any)

6. The Verb and its grammatical categories. 

7. The Pronoun and its lexico-grammatical classes.

8. Non-finite forms and their verbal and nominal features. 

9. Articles, prepositions, particles, conjunctions, interjections as form parts of speech.

II.  A Syntactic Level

1. The Phrase: a) different classifications of phrases; 

b) instances of agreement, government, adjoinment;

c) optional and obligatory valency of the verb.

2. The Sentence: a) simple sentences and their structural types;

b) composite sentences and their types; 

c) cases of transition from simple to composite sentences (semi-compound, semi-complex).

III. Methods of Sentence Analysis

Analyse sentences in terms of: 

a) traditional analysis; 

b) IC–s;   

c) FSP.
