1. Write 3-4 arguments for or against to prove the following statement: many of the activities included in the logistics sector are subject to internal regulation by companies and external regulation by government.
2. The supply chain is a convenient notion, but organisations are only really interested in making products that they can sell to customers. Provided they have reliable supplies of materials, and reasonable transport for finished products, logistics is irrelevant. Do you think this is true?

3. You want to build a new Business Centre, and there are two locations: one by a small town on the coast, and one in an urban area but with high unemployment. Think of its advantages and disadvantages. You must decide which area you represent and why. Prove your decision.

4. Think over the following questions: In your country, what are some things that people bargain for? Are the prices in the shops fixed, or negotiable? How about when you buy a house or a car? Are people in your culture considered good bargainers? What are some typical strategies that people use to get a better deal?

5. The E-business is a new trend, and it is still in infant stage, people have misunderstand it in some cases, and this new growing business has its good sides as it has its negative sides too. Give your definition of e-business and some pros and cons of it.
6.Think of three unexpected events of natural disasters that can cause major disruption to supply chains, e.g. a fire, serious storm, a strike. What are the potential consequences for companies of each chosen event?

7.Some people argue that flying fruit and vegetables from Africa to Europe is bad for the environment and should be reduced. Others argue that growing these crops roe export to rich countries is an important source of income for farmers in developing countries. Which option do you agree with? Why?

8.Many companies use 'just-in-time management', a system which has material and parts arriving just before they are needed.
Answer the following questions: Why has it become so popular? What are the risks for the supply chain? What can be done to minimise them?

9.Discuss the advantages and risks of a) single sourcing, b) dual sourcing and c) multiple sourcing key components and services for a minimum of three types of products.
10.Imagine a company that has had a lot of negative publicity because of unethical working practices in a supplier's workplace. Give your reasons: what happened, what action the company has taken and with what results, what other companies can learn from the case.
11.Which production and distribution model do you think will be adopted by companies in the future- large, regional production sites with centralised warehouses, or smaller production sites with smaller warehouses nearer to the customer? Why?
