Literature review

Dear students,

this is your main task in this semester - writing a literature review.

To do it, follow the steps: 

1) Study the material in LECTURE section about writing a literature review and useful phrases for it.

2) Find current scientific works (at least 5) in English or Russian on your dissertation topic.

3) Study how the literature review is written in other scientific papers in English; write down the useful expressions.

4) Write the literature review on the selected papers relating to your research. 

Check if your literature review meets the following requirements:

- Has it got the size of 1 to 2 pages (2000 signs)?

- Do you refer to 5 or more scientific articles of other authors?

- Have you got the correct citations (like Miller 2003, p.34)?

- Have you followed the structure: 1) the topic of your research and its relevance, 2) what has been said on your topic; 3) what are the gaps and what is your research question, 4) list of references?

- Do you employ different reporting verbs and other useful phrases to cite sources?
