Choose ONE from the essay titles below. The subject has been explored in class and you are encouraged for the purpose of this essay to independently research
the topic and represent balanced arguments and academic’s views on your chosen topic.

Critically discuss why the sustainability agenda is important to the tourism and hospitality industries and suggest ways in which sustainability can be embraced
within tourism and hospitality environments.

employment in tourism and hospitality
Assessment Title 4: Consider the impacts a health pandemic can have on the
demand and supply of tourism activity and how this can influence consumer
behaviour.
*You can use past pandemics as examples if you cannot find anything on Covid -
19. Some past examples include; Spanish Flu, Swine Flu, Ebola and so on.

content out there in order to write about any one of them. Please select the one
you wish to research further.
You are encouraged to read academic sources to support your work which include;
academic journal articles, books, statistics etc. Websites should be kept to a
minimum and should not include Wikipedia.
• You must demonstrate a minimum of TEN academic references and these should
be from varied types of sources and not just one book! You can never have too
many references.
• Don’t use too many direct quotes. Indirect quotes have two advantages over
direct quotes: they show you have understood what you have read and that you
are able to incorporate it meaningfully into your essay.
• In some situations, direct quotes are preferable; for example, where the actual
words used are difficult or impossible to paraphrase. In all cases, academic
material should be referenced and provide support for your argument.
